Núbia ( w.i.p)

This is a doll I started to make around the end of january/ beggining of february. Her name is inspired by acient Nubia region by the Nile ( now Sudan and Ethiopia) I had to set her aside for a while: she's quite small and it is difficult to find the materials i needed to make her jewelry and other lil' details.

I will also have to re-do her dress - both fabric and crocheted parts because my d.s delegated himself the duty of "yarn tail cutting" .
See that yarn tail coming from behind her? He snipped it before i wove in !
Fortunately it wasn't the hair. I really like her hair it's all made of 3 strands of cotton yarn and i've added golden rayon floss to a few braids ( nubia means "land of gold" :)

I continue on the quest to find the material for her necklace and i hope to share the finished results soon.


Esta é Núbia , o nome foi inspirado na antiga Núbia ( hoje Sudão e Etiópia) projeto que iniciei no começo do ano e que tive que deixar de lado por um tempo. Ela é bastante pequena e fui surpreendida por uma dificuldade em encontrar pecinhas para fazer um colar e outros mini detalhinhos .
Ainda, meu filho cismou com esta linha que você está vendo sair de trás da moça e cortou antes de eu fazer o acabamento! :P .
Ele se auto-proclamou cortador de "linha pendurada" e a menor distração meu trabalho se separa do novelo! então o vestido terá que ser refeito. Continuo na busca das pecinhas...

mais uma bonequinha / new dolly

fiz pra presentear alguém.

Eu queria uma bonequinha menos girlie de calça jeans, sem florzinhas nem frufrus. No meio do caminho achei que fosse dar tudo errado, coloquei umas listras cor de rosa na blusa e continuava parecendo um menino.
E ainda tinha um gorro, que eu fiz antes da boneca e que serviu de ponto de partida... acabou dando certo.
Já me empolguei e estou testando a receita fazendo um menino;)

This is a doll I made to give as a present.
My intention was to make it much smaller and less girlie than the ones I usually do, and for a while I thought it would backfire an look too boyish. Thanks to the braids, it didn't:) i started from the hat ( makes no sense, I know). I am now working on a boy:) Some of my other dollies on flickr.
